Dog Training FAQ’s
Is it ever to late to start training my dog?
It’s never too late to train your dog.
Whether you are bringing home an older dog from a shelter (or rescue), or you’d like to work with your own older dog, there’s no reason to delay doing some training. A dog can always do with exercise.
How many training sessions does my dog need?
For pet dogs, training once or twice a day, a couple of days a week in 5-15 minute training intervals is more than enough to achieve good results at home.
Our Classes ranges from 6/8 weeks, giving you full support and guidance along the way.
Can my dog be untrainable?
When a dog doesn’t listen to or follow commands, it’s not typically because they are hardheaded or untrainable. The problem is often that normal dog behaviours simply don’t conform to human standards of manners, and changing behaviour that comes naturally to a dog can take time and effort.
Can all dogs be trained?
All dogs can learn regardless of their background, but certain skills are going to be easier for specific breeds due to their physical traits. The sky is the limit.
Why would my dog benefit from obedience training?
In order to have your dog act socially and interact with other people and their pets, they should go through obedience training first. This helps to ensure they will know how to act and react which can avoid problems like barking, biting and other unwanted behaviour.
